About
Auli is India's best-known ski area, set on a ridge above Joshimath in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district at around 3,010 m. Four short runs and a handful of lifts serve skiers from January to March, with views across to the Nanda Devi massif. The Joshimath-Auli ropeway, once among Asia's longest at 4.15 km, has been suspended since January 2023 after land subsidence in the area.
