About
Brenneralm is a small ski hill in Breitenfurt bei Wien, in the Wienerwald of Lower Austria near Vienna, distinct from the Tyrolean village of Gries am Brenner despite the similar name. Rudolf Wyhlidal opened it in 1971 with a single 465-meter double drag lift climbing from 385 to 475 meters, a 295-foot vertical still served by that one lift today. Floodlit runs let Vienna day-trippers ski after work, a niche that has kept the local hill busy for more than five decades.
