About
Chrea is a small ski station inside Chrea National Park in Algeria's Blida Atlas Mountains, about 65 km southwest of Algiers. Skiing runs between 1,480 and 1,520 meters, a 40-meter vertical drop over just 0.5 km of mostly easy terrain, served by three lifts including a six-person gondola climbing more than 7 km from Blida. It is one of the few places in Africa with downhill skiing on natural snow, running a short season from mid-December to mid-March in a park also known for cedar forests and Barbary macaques.
