Hochkar is the largest and highest ski area in Lower Austria, set above Göstling an der Ybbs about 150 km west of Vienna. Eight lifts serve 19 km of pisted runs across a 428 m vertical, with snowmaking that holds the season from December into April. North-facing slopes between 1,380 and 1,808 m keep it snow-sure, and part of the area stays lit for night skiing.
