About
Mount Blackstrap is a historic, non-operational ski area in Saskatchewan, Canada. Ski operations are not active. Mount Blackstrap was a man-made hill about 50 km south of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, built by the government in 1970 for the 1971 Canada Winter Games. Once the most popular ski hill in the province, it closed permanently in 2008 due to declining use; the lodge burned in 2009 and the lifts were dismantled, though the surrounding Blackstrap Provincial Park remains open for year-round recreation.
