About
Otari Onsen sits in the mountains of Otari village, northern Nagano, Japan. It was never a developed resort; there is no permanent lift, and it serves mainly as a base for backcountry mountain skiing on free, unmanaged terrain. The draw is the hot spring at its foot, Otari Onsen, whose waters have been used since the 1550s.
