About
Pigeon Mountain is a historic, non-operational ski area in Alberta, Canada. Ski operations are not active. Pigeon Mountain was a short-lived ski area on the west face of Pigeon Mountain in Alberta's Bow Valley near Canmore, operating roughly 1962-1969 and again about 1979-1983. Two Poma lifts served it, but chinook winds, a sunny west aspect, poor snow and equipment failures forced its permanent closure; the area is now part of Bow Valley Wildland Provincial Park and used for hiking.
