About
Samoëns is a village at about 720 meters in the Giffre valley of Haute-Savoie, one of five gateways into the Grand Massif ski area. From the village two gondolas, the Grand Massif Express and the Vercland lift, climb to the Samoëns 1600 snow front and the 265 kilometers of linked piste above. It is the only French ski village listed as a historic monument, known for the stonecutters, the Frahans, who built much of its 16th-century center.
