About
Snow World Tazawa was a ski area above Lake Tazawa in Akita Prefecture, Japan, built by Hotel Higashi Nihon and opened in 1994. Its slopes dropped about 456 meters, but a south facing aspect and low elevation left it short on natural snow compared to rivals nearby. It was the first of three competing resorts in the Tazawako area to close, in 2007, leaving only the original Tazawako Ski Resort still operating there today.
