About

Sölden sits in the Ötztal valley of Tyrol, Austria, on terrain that climbs to two high glaciers, the Rettenbach and the Tiefenbach. It offers about 144 kilometers of piste and is the only Austrian resort with three lift-served peaks above 3,000 meters, the "Big 3" topping out at the 3,340-meter Schwarze Schneide. The Rettenbach glacier hosts the annual giant slalom that opens the Alpine Ski World Cup each October, and the mountainside restaurant ice Q served as a filming location for the James Bond film Spectre.
