Tignes and Val d'Isère are two resorts in the Tarentaise valley of Savoie, France, linked into one ski area once known as the Espace Killy. Together they offer roughly 300 kilometers of piste rising to the Grande Motte glacier at 3,456 meters, which gives a vertical drop close to 1,900 meters and snow-sure skiing into late spring. The long run down from the Grande Motte falls about 1,400 meters in a single descent.
