About
Tūroa is a ski area on the south side of Mount Ruapehu, a live volcano on New Zealand's North Island. It holds the highest lift-served terrain in the country, with a vertical drop near 720 metres over broad, treeless slopes. After Ruapehu Alpine Lifts collapsed, local operator Pure Tūroa took over under a ten-year Department of Conservation concession and continues to run the field.
