Val Chatel is a historic, non-operational ski area in Minnesota, United States. Ski operations are not active. Val Chatel was a ski resort on Deep Lake near Park Rapids in Hubbard County, Minnesota, opened by the Peterson family in the mid-1950s and home to one of the state's early ski lifts. It closed in 1984 after snowless winters, sat derelict for decades, and the 352-acre site was acquired for conversion into Deep Lake Park; its buildings have since been demolished.
