About
Vitosha is Bulgaria's oldest ski area, set on the Aleko slopes of Vitosha mountain just 12 km from central Sofia. Six lifts serve roughly 20 km of pistes between 1,530 and 2,270 metres, a 740 metre vertical that runs from open alpine bowls down into the trees. Skiers ride within sight of the capital, and the mountain doubles as Sofia's summer hiking ground above the city.
