The waves here are mostly mushy, with sections that can surprise you with power amidst the slow zones, breaking over flat rocks mixed with sand. Best surf conditions occur at mid tide, where rising and falling tides can offer the best rides. Known also as Coal Oil Point, be prepared for some natural tar on your board—bring baby oil or olive oil to wipe it clean.
