About
Broken River is a club ski field in the Craigieburn Range of Canterbury, about 110 kilometers west of Christchurch. Five rope tows serve roughly 900 hectares of mostly steep terrain, rising 400 meters from a base of 1,420 meters to 1,820 meters, and half the runs are rated advanced. Skiers reach the lodges by the Tyndall Tramway, an access cableway that replaces a 20 minute uphill walk from the car park.
