About
Hunter Mountain Shiobara is a ski area in Nasushiobara, Tochigi Prefecture, developed by the operators of New York's Hunter Mountain and now the largest snow resort within reach of metropolitan Tokyo. A gondola and seven chairlifts serve 12 courses between 1,138 and 1,638 meters, for about 500 meters of vertical. Its longest run stretches 3 kilometers, and a gentle beginner slope draws families up from the city.
