About

Mount Eniwa Olympic Site (恵庭岳) is a historic, non-operational ski area in Hokkaido, Japan. Ski operations are not active. Mount Eniwa, in Chitose City, Hokkaido, Japan, hosted the men's and women's downhill races of the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics on a temporary course built on its southwest slope. The ropeway, lift, heliport and other facilities were constructed on the condition that they be dismantled afterward and the mountain restored to nature; the facilities were removed and the cleared areas replanted following the Games, so it has not operated as a ski venue since 1972.
