Naruko Ski Resort operated on the south face of Mount Hanabuchi in Miyagi Prefecture, near Naruko Onsen, from 1962 until it closed after the 2001-2002 season. The hill ran from 246 to 984 meters, a 738 meter vertical drop, with thirteen courses up to 2.8 kilometers long served by five lifts, including the six person Naruko Sky Porter gondola added in 1993. It hosted skiing events at the 1994 National Sports Festival before the resort shut down for good.
