About
Phuni Valley is a natural-snow ski area in North Sikkim, about 18 km up the road from Lachung at roughly 3,500 m. The Sikkim Mountaineering Association and a Gangtok tour operator opened it to skiing in 2008, with no lifts, grooming or resort base. Skiers climb the open valley slopes from January to mid-March when snow allows, and the steeper Yumthang slopes lie 6 km further north.
