Smugglers' Notch, or Smuggs, is a family resort in northern Vermont near Stowe, named for the mountain pass once used by smugglers. Three linked peaks, Madonna, Sterling, and Morse, give a 2,610-foot vertical drop, the greatest in northern Vermont, across 78 trails served by 8 lifts.
