About
Birdseye Mountain is a historic, non-operational ski area in Vermont, United States. Ski operations are not active. Birdseye Mountain was a lost ski area on the Castleton/Ira town line in Rutland County, Vermont, that opened in 1962 with a Stabil lift, rope tow and early Larchmont snowmaking, later adding a disc lift and a T-bar. After a low-snow year and slow stock sales, the area closed in the late 1960s; the land later saw use as a campground and is near the Birdseye Wildlife Management Area.
