About
Mill Ridge is a historic, non-operational ski area in North Carolina, United States. Ski operations are not active. Mill Ridge was a former ski area off Highway 105 between Boone and Linville in North Carolina's High Country, opened in 1970 on about seven acres of mostly short beginner trails plus a steeper run called Go For It. It closed in 1995 after warm, snow-poor winters and competition from nearby Hawksnest; the property is now the Mill Ridge residential resort community offering swimming, tennis and hiking, with the old lift still on the mountain.
