Skiarena Silbersattel sits above Steinach in the Thuringian Forest and is the largest alpine ski area in Thuringia. It covers 250 meters of vertical and about 4.2 kilometers of runs on the 842-meter Fellberg, served by a six-seat chairlift and two T-bar lifts. Its black run, pitched at 55 to 80 percent, is the steepest piste in Germany north of the Alps.
