About

Oberhof lies in the Thuringian Forest and is better known as Germany's national training center for biathlon, bobsled, luge, and Nordic combined than as an alpine ski hill. Its alpine terrain, the Fallbachhang slope at the LOTTO Thueringen Snowpark, climbs 120 meters from a 720 meter base on a single four person chairlift and an 800 meter run. The town's real draw is the 1,354.5 meter bobsled and luge track built in 1972, still used for World Cup races today.
